Rachel Koch

B.S., MSE, 2016

Rachel is a senior undergraduate in the Materials Science and Engineering department.  She was born and raised in Tucson, so she’s basically been a Wildcat since birth. After graduating from Pima Community College and getting her associate degrees in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD), she came to the University of Arizona to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Engineering.  After a materials class about testing and probing methods for materials, she decided to apply her senior research project to analyzing materials using FIB, SEM, and TEM techniques.  She is currently working on visualization of amorphous damage under FIB preparation of STO samples.  After graduating in May 2018, she hopes to continue to work with the FIB and SEM in application to real world materials and situations.
