College of Science Galileo Circle Scholarship

The Galileo Circle is looking for students committed to academic excellence and at the forefront of changing and bettering our world.

How to Apply:

Nominations are typically solicited in early March. Application materials to be submitted to the department includes:

1. Personal Statement (1 page)

2. Resume

3. Letter of support from a College of Science faculty member

Scholarship recipients will be required to submit a professional photo suitable for donors and a thank you letter to the donor. 

Award Eligibility:

Galileo Circle Scholars must be full-time majors in a College of Science undergraduate or graduate degree program, with a minimum GPA of 3.2. Previous recipients are eligible. The CoS encourages nominations of previous Galileo Circle Scholars that are still eligible. Galileo Circle members are interested in staying connected with the scholars and seeing how they progress throughout their education at the U of A. To be eligible, students must plan to be continuing/enrolled for the fall semester after award is made (summer graduates are not eligible).

Deadline:

Typically early- to mid-March.

Award amounts & Award process:

The Galileo Circle Scholarships ($1,000 awards) are supported through the generous donations of Galileo Circle members and are awarded annually each spring. Recipients are selected by the LPL Awards Committee.
