Evelyn Hunten chose to pursue engineering because it combines all of her interests, including space science, the instrumentation that drives scientific discoveries, computer programming, and building new things. Shortly after graduation, Hunten will begin working at IBM in Tucson.
She contributed to the electrical components of the project—including wiring the control panel—and acted as the systems engineer. She also created documentation throughout the course of the project.
Hunten enjoyed soldering the wires for the control panel, but found presenting the project to the public on Design Day most rewarding.
Hunten would like to ultimately pursue a career in the space industry, and move to Seattle, Washington.
