My research focuses on how planetary atmospheres evolve and interact with radiation and energetic particles from their host stars and other sources. I am particularly interested in the physics and chemistry of the middle and upper atmosphere on extrasolar planets as well as on the planets and satellites in the solar system. My research combines the analysis of remote sensing data with numerical modeling to characterize planetary atmospheres in a wide range of different environments. Current projects include the analysis and interpretation of Cassini observations of Saturn and Titan and modeling the middle and upper atmospheres of the many extrasolar planets.
