Science at Sunset: International Observe the Moon Night

5:30 – 10 p.m., Sept. 14, 2024

Join Flandrau and friends from the University of Arizona's Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, Steward Observatory, and NOIRLab's Kitt Peak Observatory to observe and celebrate Earth's natural satellite, the Moon. 

Evening events featured:

  • Free-standing telescopes
  • Tours of Steward Observatory and the Raymond E. White, Jr.  21" telescope
  • Science demonstrations
  • Lecture given by PTYS Graduate Student Gabe Gowman on the Lunar & Planetary Laboratory's moon research history
  • Planetarium shows.
