Pioneer

    Pioneer program included a number of unmanned space missions.

    Pioneer 11 (Pioneer G) is a robotic space probe launched by NASA on April 6, 1973 to study the asteroid belt, the environment around Jupiter and Saturn, solar wind and cosmic rays.

    Pioneer Venus Project's main objective was to investigate the solar wind in the Venusian environment. It was also going to map Venus' surface using a radar imaging system.
